| Question: | I am working for an accoutnting firm, we usually attend many trade shows, and do presentations in colleges, and highschool, [romoting the accounting profession. I was thinking about taking a new approach to our somewhat plain promotional items and going with a 'BEAN COUNTERS' slogan. I was hoping to get bean shaped tins with either jelly beans or mints in them, the only problem is that I cannot find anything other than the Jelly Belly ones, and the jelly belly product is expensive, no one else does bean shaped tins with mints however. I am also wondering what ideas you may have to promote the accounting profession. We have a few distinct target markets, one being High school students, one being College students and the other being continuing education students. Any ideas? Thanks! | | Answer: | Hi Mel,There are some different containers for jelly beans you can use. Even the pyramid you could play off of "Bean counters have special powers". It might be fun to actually give away say five big wooden bean counter machines at each event to encourage folks to leave their name and number. But, if you really want to leave a lasting impression amongst the college/student set I would imprint the best bean counter of them all, the calculator. Everyone in school needs one and your company name would be front and center occupying prime real estate, the desktop. Thanks for knocking on our door!

| Question: | We are a private eyecare business looking for new ideas to sell more sunglasses. We carry several brand names and fit and sell a lot of contact lenses, so we should be selling more sunwear. Do you have any marketing ideas? Thank you in advance, Gary | | Answer: | Hi, If you are looking for ideas to give as a gift with purchase then it should have some intrinsic value. Here are some ideas that are very different from one another and costs vary from $1.00 to $7.00. You have to ask the question how much is a client worth? How extensive is your advertising campaign? You could draw people in "With each pair of new lenses you'll get a good night's rest with a free sleep mask" The possibilities are endless depending on your marketing direction. | Question: | We are a new title insurance company entering a very competitive market. We will be attempting to woo mainly real estate agents between the ages of 25 and 55. Need something of good quality and different than things they have seen before. We would like to give them the gifts while they are alone at open houses to persuade them to execute closings with us. Lets see if you have any ideas that we have not thought of and we'll definetly be placing an order through you. | | Answer: | Hi Clayton, The most powerful marketing products are the ones that are re-ordered because they work. So, I am going to let you in on a real find. There is a similar company, as yours, in the NW market who researched a variety of different products, ordered samples and once they decided on a tool kit, compared different manufacturer kits to pick the perfect one. The feedback they gave me was this kit was preemo! They are now ordering it for new clients throughout their whole organization and it started with one agent. The picture is not the greatest, but the tool kit is! It may be a few more dollars then what you were planning to spend, but this is actually a $45 kit for half the price and with your logo and message imprinted for long term branding. Description: 27 pieces home/travel tool set that contains bit drivers, 8" scissors, metal utility knife, 6" long nose pliers, 8 oz. tubular steel claw hammer, 3 piece precision screwdriver set, 10 chrome vanadium bits in dispenser case, 4 piece hex key set (1/4", 7/32", 3/16", 5/32"), 6" slip joint plier, 6" adjustable wrench, 1/2" x 10' power tape and 85 piece fastener set in aluminum reinforced carry case - 11 3/8" x 8 1/4" x 2 3/8".Another great idea is the relaxation kit Add a tagline like ?Relax we will take care of all the paperwork!? and you have an unforgettable marketing piece.Or maybe use a travel kit with a tag line of ?We take care of the details!? This travel kit is ready to grab and go and all the toiletries inside are name brands and packaged well. |
