Every year we receive the results of an industry wide survey. I thought it might be interesting for you to know some facts and figures when you are stating your case for your next promotion. What buyers want? Among respondents whose companies used promotional products as business gifts, 44% reported quality was the most important feature they seek. Respondents whose companies engaged in trade shows, over half, 57% reported that price was the most important consideration when selecting promotional items. The companies who used promotional products for customer acquisitions, 40% selected creativity as most important. No big surprises there except in customer acquisition. Have you ever heard of CPI? In advertising lingo it is very important. It means cost per impression. A promotional mug that lasts one to two years with three to five people viewing it each day can yield as many as 15 to 50 impressions per five day work week. A 50 sheet notepad has a minimum of 50 exposures and then if the note is passed along the number doubles. The CPI for a $1.00 custom imprinted notepad becomes 2 cents or even 1 cent, per impression depending on whether the note is shared. Now that’s something to talk about!
