iClick takes an environmentally conscious initiative with the introduction of eco-friendly custom printed USB Flash Drives. Advances in technology and materials have paved the way for companies like iClick to produce competitively-priced, eco-friendly drives produced in enviro-conscious packaging. Now the USB Drive model will become an even more popular promotional product item, when made with environmentally friendly materials such as lead-free solders, which decomposes more easily than their traditional counterparts. The following are the eco-friendly components of iClick’s products: - USB drive including the PCB board, solder, memory chip, and electronic components
- Housing or casing including those made of plastic, aluminum, steel, leatherettes, and silicone
- Ink used to print the logos
- Vinyl snap packaging that is standard with all models
- Neck lanyard - black that is standard with all models
- Paper insert card for technical support that is standard with all models
iClick eco-friendly USB flash drives follow the guidelines of the EU RoHS Directive. The RoHS Directive stands for, "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment." A big offender found in electronics is solder: a fusible metal (typically lead) that is used in a process called soldering to join metallic surfaces such as circuits boards in electronic products. The use of lead-free solders in eco-friendly USB flash drives allows for the drives to decompose without contaminating water supplies with toxic lead. While the RoHS Directive is not an official standard in the United States, iClick has made it a company initiative to enforce environmentally friendly standards for all of their USB flash drives. iClick’s commitment to integrating sound environmental, health, and safety management practices into all aspects of their business is certainly commendable and hopefully sets the stage for more companies to follow in their conservation efforts. |
